The course - in English - covers the theoretical part of the Danish Day Skipper Certificate (Teoretisk Duelighed). The course ends with an examination with an examiner from the Danish Maritime Authorities. If you have passed the practical Day skipper exam, you will obtain the Day skipper Certificate (Duelighedsbevis) which allows you to sail any Danish pleasure vessel up to 15m.
The course is rather intensive and you have to expect some work at home between every lesson.

Practical information about content and materials
The course is taught over 9 weekly lessons of 3 hours with exam soonest after course completion.
Course topics include:
- the essentials of coastal navigation and pilotage
- chart work
- position fixing
- plotting a course to steer
- collision regulations
- Identification of vessels from light, fog signals and day signals
- emergency and safety procedures including distress calls, use of flares, safety harnesses, lifejackets and life rafts
